Effective 30 July 2026
SMS consent policy
How consent to receive text messages is obtained, what it covers, how it is recorded, and how it is withdrawn.
01
How consent is obtained
Consent is collected at the moment you get in touch. Where you contacted a business using Sentr, that business collects it. Where you contacted Sentr directly, we do. It is obtained in one of three ways:
- You message them first. Texting a business creates consent for that business to reply to you about your enquiry. Texting Sentr on 408-459-8291 works the same way.
- You submit a web form carrying an unchecked consent checkbox, which you tick yourself. The checkbox is never pre-ticked and is never bundled with any other agreement. The waitlist form on this site is one of them.
- You give a number verbally during a call and are told you will receive a text about it.
Consent is always specific to whoever you contacted. Sentr does not transfer consent between businesses, does not use it for anything but replying to your enquiry, and does not build a shared marketing list.
02
Sample consent language
Businesses using Sentr display wording equivalent to the following next to an unchecked checkbox wherever a phone number is collected:
“I agree to receive text messages from Sentr LLCabout my enquiry. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our privacy policy and messaging terms.”
Agreeing to receive text messages is never a condition of purchase, and consent is never bundled with terms of service or any other agreement.
03
What the messages are
Messages are transactional and conversational: replies to your enquiry, appointment times, confirmations, and follow-up about something you already raised. Businesses using Sentr do not send promotional or marketing campaigns through it.
04
How consent is recorded
Every consent event is stored against the individual contact, with the method it was given by, the exact wording shown at the time, and a timestamp. That record is retained for as long as the business remains a customer and for a period afterwards, so consent can be evidenced if it is ever questioned.
05
Withdrawing consent
Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately. You will receive a single confirmation and then nothing further. Reply START to resume, or HELP for support. Full keyword details are in the messaging terms.
You can also opt out by emailing support@sentrusa.com, or by texting or calling 408-459-8291.
06
Your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
See the privacy policy for the full picture of what is collected and why.
